"We moved to Summerhill of Maplewood because of the location. We enjoy the residential neighborhood, the location overlooking the Maplewood Nature Center, being near many restaurants and stores, and the easy access to freeways. We have made new friendships and have many opportunities to participate in social events. We also find that contributing to the cooperative’s well-being through volunteering our time is rewarding and provides opportunities to get to know other members. All of our visitors comment on the beautiful, well-kept interior, and the friendliness of people they meet. We agree!"

"I am very grateful to own a share of the Summerhill Cooperative for the following reasons:

1.  Your transfer value increases annually.

2. You have a great community of neighbors who participate as much as they want in the social and entertainment events offered.

3. The adjacent nature center and a quiet residential neighborhood setting offer opportunities for lovely walks.

4. When it's time to take a trip, just lock your door and go! No need to pay for house/yard maintenance and security."

"I moved here from the East Coast 5 years ago and have not had one minute of regret. It felt like home from the very first day. My unit is spacious, comfortable and quiet. I love not having to do all of those homeowner chores. Garbage, snow removal and maintenance are all taken care of for me. I don’t even have to be home for repairs!

There are so many activities to participate in, or not, my choice. If you want to find someone to join you in something new, you only have to post it on the bulletin board. And with only 44 units, so no one is a stranger. You even start to know the families."

"Summerhill is a perfect fit for me.  No more stairs is a definite plus. The units are spacious, and each has a screened-in deck.  No more mosquitos for me? We have Happy Hour on Fridays and a resident dinner once a month. Underground parking is included as is all maintenance—no more waiting for weeks to get something fixed. The neighborhood is quiet, and the nature park at the end of the street is great for walking. The residents are so welcoming. I felt at home on my first day here."

"My wife and I moved to Summerhill in October of 2012 just as her Alzheimer’s was beginning to rear its ugly head. We had lived in ten different places during our then 50 years of marriage, which included military service, graduate school and parish assignments. Summerhill proved to be an excellent choice as a well-managed facility and a supportive community. I look forward to being here for several more years."

"I moved into Summerhill 12 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.  Summerhill is a small community of 44 units so it is easy to get to know all of your neighbors. We are in an established neighborhood, with not much traffic. We are surrounded by homes, a nature center and our well-kept grounds. There is underground parking – especially nice in the winter. A variety of social activities are offered; card and game sessions, a puzzle room, a resident monthly dinner, Tuesday morning coffee gatherings, as well as spontaneous get-togethers. Summerhill is close to drug stores, grocery stores and other retail outlets. It is a great place to live! Come join us!"
